The Lisbon Oceanarium (Oceanário de Lisboa)

Overview:

The Lisbon Oceanarium is located in the Park of Nations in Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. It is one of the heritage places attached to UNESCO as one of the most important and beautiful historical places. The museum is located on the sea side, which makes it a destination for contemplation lovers.

The Lisbon Oceanarium consists mainly of four buildings that were built during the 18th and 19th centuries, as it constitutes an important part of the historical heritage in the city of Lisbon, next to being one of the most important tourist places in Portugal.

The museum consists mainly of a long canal called Aguas Livres, which, since its construction, has remained a wonderful example of distinctive architecture, in addition to the height of its thirty-five arches, and one of these arches is the largest arch of Ojival stone in the world.

The museum has four large aquariums whose idea is inspired by the oceans, each of which contains a huge number of fish of all sizes and types found in the seas and oceans, in addition to areas designated for penguins, crocodiles, and sea snakes, which provide each type with the appropriate environment to stay in.
