Jiwan Restaurant - National Museum of Qatar

Overview:

Jiwan presents Qatari cuisine in a new, exciting way, offering a refined menu that shines a light on local produce.

It is located on the fourth floor of the National Museum of Qatar and features stunning panoramic views of the Doha Corniche. From the outdoor terrace with its impressive views, visitors can look over the desert rose-inspired architecture by Jean Nouvel and the restored Palace of Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim Al Thani.

The design of Jiwan Restaurant matches the menu, to give you a taste of Qatar's nature and the rich traditions associated with marine activities. The result is a calm and relaxing environment to enjoy the essence of Qatar.

Jiwan’s contemporary Qatari menu has been carefully curated to take us back to the country’s roots. Seasonal sharing dishes pay homage to indigenous ingredients. Ancient Bedouin elemental cooking techniques —fire, water, air, and earth — are used to transform textures and familiar flavours. The result is a celebration of Qatar’s future culinary identity. Simple yet sophisticated. Novel yet comfortingly nostalgic.

Jiwan by Alain Ducasse, is an immersive restaurant at National Museum of Qatar that takes you on a sensory journey through Qatar’s rich culture and unique landscape. A place to pause and reflect upon Qatar’s history and ambitious vision.

Alain Ducasse’s excellence as standard meets local traditions to provide guests with a warm, convivial experience. Jiwan is truly yours to enjoy.

Small dining pods are inspired by the sand dunes of the inland sea of Khor Al Adaid, offering guests the best vantage point to catch the softly fading light of dusk and sunsets over the sea.

The restaurant's design draws inspiration from the unique Qatari nature and geography, where the sea comes deep into the heart of the desert.

Jiwan is the Qatari word for the "perfect pearl" – rose-tinted white and completely round, with a lustre so pure that it comes alive with radiance.

- The ceiling of Jiwan Restaurant is inspired by traditional fishing nets. Over four million pearl-like crystal beads are suspended from the ceiling creates an experience for guests as if they were diving under the water.
