It is a square that bore many names throughout the ages; the name of the square "Boulevard Mohammed V" came after it was called "Leouti Square", "the Administrative Square", "the Great Square" and "the Victory Square"; the names that changed as the city rulers changed.

The square is now famous as "the Pigeons Square" in Casablanca, where pigeons are located on all sides of the square eating wheat and give a peaceful character to the square attracting every visitor, traveler, and tourist to discover the city of Casablanca.

It is located in a vibrant place in the city of Casablanca, near which there are beautiful ancient buildings of a French architectural style, characterized by the beauty of their construction and architecture.

The square was restored during 1960s as a fountain was added to it.

It is considered one of the most important streets in the city of Casablanca and one of the oldest tourist streets there, since its construction dates back to 1930s, after many buildings were built in the city starting in 1930 AD in which French architecture was used and it relied on modern decoration.

The street includes many shops and buildings that have an original artistic and historical architectural character.
