Saint Elias Maronite Church
Overview:
This church was built in the Minet Al Hoson area in the center of Beirut in the year 1907 in the place of an old church which was narrow for the number of believers.
Architectural description:
It has more than one engineering type. Its Italian architect achieved harmony between the sandstone (predominantly in the old buildings of Beirut) and the majestic carved Roman columns.
Historic overview:
When it was restored in 2002, the walls were decorated by the French artist Jacques Guiton with glass that added colours and modernity to the old building.
