Hawa Mahal (palace of winds, Jaipur)
overview:
Hawa mahal, is one of the largest palaces in India and the world, and it is considered a masterpiece of Indian architecture.
This palace is located in Jaipur, capital of Rajasthan.
It consists of 5 floors and includes 900 rooms equipped and extremely luxurious, as well as 953 balconies that work as air corridors for the palace.
The palace was built without any foundations or bases under it, as it was built in a pyramid shape with an inclination angle of 87 degrees.
What distinguishes this palace is its wonderful location on one of the main streets, which gives the visitor or tourist a wonderful view overlooking the city from the palace balconies which have a distinctive design as the palace nobles used to do in the past.
It was built by Maharaja Swai Pratap Singh in 1799 AD and built the palace in the form of a crown that adorns the king's head.
The palace contains a number of temples, the most important of which is the Govind Temple.
The best time to see the Palace of the Winds is early in the morning, when the sun gives it a golden colour due to its rays which are reflecting on it.
