Overview:

Sulayman Mountain (also known as Taht-Sulayman, Sulayman Rock or Sulayman Throne) is the only World Heritage Site that is completely located in the country of Kyrgyzstan.

He was also known as Barakoch or Nice Mountain, and his new name was given because of the Prophet Sulayman, who is said to have been buried at the foot of this mountain.

The sacred mountain of Sulayman Too overlooks the Ferghana Valley and forms the back end of the city of Osh, at the crossroads of major routes on the Silk Roads in Central Asia. Over a period of more than 1,500 years, Sulayman Too served as a beacon for guiding travelers and a glorified place as a sacred mountain.

The five summits and slopes of this mountain include many ancient places of worship and caves with rock inscriptions, as well as two 16th-century mosques, most of which have been rebuilt.

One of those famous installations on the mountain was the mausoleum of Asif ibn Barakhia, who is said to have been King Sulayman's minister.

Until now, there are 101 sites have been counted and indexed, containing rock inscriptions representing human beings, animals, and geometric shapes.

The site includes 17 places of worship distributed around its peaks, linked by paths for walking, and some of these places are still in use until today.
