- His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani inaugurated the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in 1992.
- The stadium had an initial capacity of 4,500 seats and was renovated and expanded in 2008 to increase the capacity to 7000 seats after adding more booths, lower parts, middle parts and upper parts. In addition, a VIP tent and a public square including restaurants and entertainment facilities were added. The Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex, which contains twenty-four courts and many other facilities, is committed to hosting the most important and largest tennis tournaments in the world.
