Tomb of Saadi
Overview:
- The Tomb of Saadi, commonly known as Saadieh, is a tomb and mausoleum dedicated to the Persian poet Saadi in the Iranian city of Shiraz.
- The tomb of the poet Sheikh Sharaf al-Din bin Mosleh Saadi al-Shirazi is located next to Park Delgosha.
- Saadi lived in the same place, which was at first a monastery, until the end of his life and was buried there.
- A cemetery was built over Saadi’s burial place in the seventh century AH, and in subsequent years, a luxurious two-storey stucco and brick building was built over the poet’s tomb.
- The main entrance to Saadieh ends in the direction of the poet's tomb itself, which was designed by the French architect Andre Ghadres.
- The building was built in the style of Iranian architecture, and it consists of eight columns of brown stones, but the foundation of the architecture is decorated with stone, and the dome of the cemetery is built with turquoise faience.
