Hasht Behesht Palace - The Eight Heavens Palace
Overview:
Hasht Behesht Palace, literally meaning "the Eight Heavens" in Persian, is one of the most prominent historical palaces built in the city of Isfahan on the majestic Isfahan architectural styles. It consists of two floors and was built by order of Shah Suleiman I, the great Safavid king, in the middle of a garden which is considered one of the most beautiful and spacious gardens in that time.
This majestic palace is considered the finest example of ancient and unique Iranian architecture as it amazes tourists and make them express their admiration for its wonderfully beautiful engineering designs and its amazing decorations that are different from each other and coordinated at the same time, including the arts of mirrors, marble stones, and interesting mosaics, and the art of gilding and Inlaid doors and windows, paintings and exquisite stucco work, on which beautiful images of animals are engraved.
There is another architectural wonder that makes Hasht Behesht Palace unique in the world, which is the ceiling of the original hall in the form of a beautiful lavender dome on a bright golden base and the walls on the upper floor that are decorated with impressive geometric shapes such as the Music Hall of the Aali Qapu Palace (High Gate).
