Al Abduljaleel Mosque
Overview:
Al-Abduljaleel Mosque was founded by the second judge of Kuwait, Sheikh Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Abdul Jalil in 1779 AD, and it was said before that. He took over the judiciary after the death of Sheikh Muhammad bin Fairouz (the first judge known in Kuwait in 1135 AH corresponding to 1722 AD, and continued to serve until 1170 AH - 1756 AD), and he ceded it to Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdul Rahman Al-Adsani.
The mosque was known to the later people as the “Masoud” mosque, in reference to Mullah Masoud al-Haqhaq, who was its imam and muezzin. The mosque was demolished in the early sixties and another mosque was built in the name of the founder in the Fayha area. This locality was known to many elderly people at the time as "Freej Ghoneim".
