Overview:
The city is named after Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani, and it was the first area to witness recent construction.
Its establishment was supervised by Sheikh Abdullah bin Ibrahim Al-Ansari when he was head of rural affairs, and there was in it the first building of Qatar University since its establishment until 1985 AD, and then it moved to its current building in the Al-Tarfa area north of Doha, and there is in it the most famous mosque in Qatar, which is Omar bin Al-Khattab Mosque.
