The Green Mosque
Overview:
It is part of a large group of buildings located on the eastern side of Bursa which was the capital of the Ottomans before the conquest of Constantinople in 1453, and this group of buildings consists of a mosque, a residence, a school, a public kitchen and a public bath. Yeshil Mosque is a wonderful mixture of architecture and decoration.
Historical overview:
It was built by Sultan Mehmed I (Chalabi) to be a mosque and a government palace at the same time, and was completed in January of the year 1420. It is the third sultan mosque in Bursa.
