Overview:
Khalifa International Stadium was established in 1976 in Al Rayyan, and since that date it has been the beating heart of the sporting events which are taking place in Qatar.
Khalifa Stadium, which has a capacity of 40,000 seats, has hosted many iconic events throughout its long history, such as the Asian Games, the Gulf Cup and the AFC Asian Cup.
The stadium now appears in a very modern look after the completion of the changes it underwent, and its roof is topped by two arcs that represent continuity, and symbolize the embrace of fans from all over the world. The stadiums are protected from various weather factors by a canopy that surrounds the sides of the stadium, in addition to advanced cooling technologies that control temperatures.
