Al Midan
Overview:
Midan Al-Hassa: It was - in the past - the area adjacent to the Bab Al-Musalla Mosque. It was also known as "Al Midan Al Tahtani", then the name "Midan Al-Hassa" spread to include the entire suburb. The reason for its name is that its soil is covered with gravel. Today, it is called "Al-Midan neighborhood", to the south of Damascus, about 3 km to the south, and in the Al-Midan neighborhood there are a number of historical mosques, such as: Al-Daqqaq Mosque, Al-Khanqiyah Mosque, Manjak Mosque, Mazi Mosque, Sheikh Muhammad Al-Ashmar Mosque, and Al-Mansour Mosque.
