Overview
National Mosque of Malaysia is one of the oldest and one of the biggest mosques with space amounting to 53.000 square meters that fit up to 15000 people. The mosque architecture is a mixture of morocco, Indian and Mongols architecture.
Historic overview
National Mosque of Malaysia was opened in 1965 where it was named negara mosque. In 1987 the mosque was renovated and in 2015 the mosque celebrated its Golden Jubilee 50th anniversary.
Architecture description
The mosque has a minaret that is shaped-like a closed umbrella with height amounting to a 73-meter-high (240 ft). While the roof was designed like an open umbrella, the minaret's cap a folded one.
