Overview:

• It is located opposite the cemetery of "Bab Al-Saghir", which was built in 1526 AD.

Historic overview:

• It is one of the most famous water sources in “Old Damascus”, as it was fed by the water of “Al-Samidia Mosque”, but now, with the increasing demand for water due to the population increase, the people of “Al-Shaghour neighborhood” stopped it, insuring it with protection from an iron net to preserve it.

Architectural description:

• The sabil was decorated as it used to decorate the Damascene sabils with decorations engraved on marble, in addition to an inscription of a noble Quranic verse containing the phrase water or drink, such as: “Lord will slake their thirst with a pure drink” or “And We made from water every living thing” and “Eat and drink and do not be extravagant. God does not love wasteful” or verses of poetry.
