Overview:
The Syr Darya or Seyhun River is one of the rivers of Central Asia and one of the two largest rivers in Uzbekistan.
The length of the Seyhun River (Syr Derya) from its source to its mouth is (2,700) kilometres, and it flows through three (ex-Soviet) Islamic republics, namely: Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan.
This river originates from the northern highlands of Pamir in Kyrgyzstan Republic (ex-Soviet). Seyhun River heads west from its source in Kyrgyzstan until it enters the Republic of Uzbekistan at the Uzbek city of Kokand.
