Overview:
Andizhan is one of the oldest cities in the Ferghana Valley.
Archaeologists have found in the city some things dating back to the seventh and eighth centuries, and Andizhan was an important city on the Silk Road.
The Uzbek city of Andizhan is the administrative capital of the Ferghana Valley, which was divided by former Soviet leader Joseph Stalin in (1925 AD) between Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
Current location:
Andizhan is about 350 km from the Uzbek capital, Tashkent.
