The Carthage Early Christian Museum
Overview
In the late seventies and early eighties, excavations revealed traces of one of the largest buildings in Carthage in the Christian era, the basilica. It was precisely on the site of these excavations that the Early Christian Museum was built, on the edge of Bourguiba Avenue.
The museum contains artifacts dating back to the Roman and early Christian periods, the most important of which are the statue of Ganymedes and Zeus (represented by the image of an eagle).
