Baths of Antonius of Carthage
Overview
The Baths of Antonius of Carthage is one of the largest Roman baths in Africa and one of the three largest baths built in the Roman Empire.
The archaeological site of Carthage is the richest and most luxurious group, as it includes the Baths of Antoninus, as well as gardens containing monuments dating back to different periods of antiquity.
The baths were used during the reign of Emperor Antoninus in the year 165 AD, and the landmark consisted of three floors, topped by several domes. Today, only some parts remain.
The baths of Antonius are included in the archaeological sites of Carthage, classified as the World Heritage List by UNESCO.
