Battle of Okinawa

Overview:

The Battle of Okinawa is a battle of World War II that took place on the island of Okinawa between the Japanese forces and the American forces in the period between April 1 to June 21, 1945, and ended with the American occupation of the island, and it is considered the last major battle in the war. Japanese soldiers committed suicide rather than surrender to American forces in Okinawa during the Battle of Okinawa at the end of World War II.

The location of the battle: 

There are remains of the skeletons of Japanese soldiers in the Chibichiri Cave in the village of Yomitan in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan, the place of mass suicide.
