Almuñécar

Overview:

Almuñécar is a town that follows Granada. Abderramán Ibn Muawiyah landed in it when he entered Andalusia. It is about 89k.m south Granada. 

The most important sights in Almuñécar: 

The ruins of its Andalusian fortress, it was converted in to cemetery and its walls converted in to small paintings. 

The great church: it is an ancient and large church, built on the site of the grand mosque of the city.

The square of Emir Abd-ar-Rahman I which named after Abd-ar-Rahman who ruled Spain and his family ruled Spain after his death from 138 A.H to 422 A.H.

In 2005, In honor of the Prince Abd ar-Rahman, Almuñécar placed a monument for him and below the statue there is an inscription of Prince Abd ar-Rahman poem. 

The logo of Almuñécar in Spain, is a bearded Arab men wearing turbans.

In 895 A.H /1489, Almuñécar city fell by the Castilian.
