Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park

Overview:

Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park located east of the city, it is characterized by the volcanic rock formations.

It is one of the most beautiful landmarks in Spain and the largest coastal protected area in Andalusia; it is home to 1000 species of birds and animals. 

In 1997, it was designated as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

In Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park, there are various activates as swimming, walking and visiting the tourist places as the fishing villages, lakes and the famous lighthouse.

The nature has endowed Cabo de Gata Coast a beauty and you can see it in many pure beaches which is decorated by wild beautiful plants and the bays with its gold sand as Playa de Mónsul and Playa de los Muertos. 

There are some Spanish attractions close to the park as Sierra Nevada Mountain, in addition to other mountains as Sierra de Los Filabres Mountain and Sierra Alhamilla Mountain.

You can also visit white Níjar Town which is famous of its pottery, ceramics and textiles industry.

You will taste the most delicious dishes in restaurants in the principal yard.
