Vizcaya Museum & Gardens
Overview:
This national historic landmark, built in 1916 on an area of 28 acres, was the luxurious winter home of wealthy James Dering.
More than 1100 workers and craftsmen took part in the construction, many of whom were brought from Europe to ensure originality of the design.
The villa, designed in the Italian Renaissance style, has 34 rooms filled with European furniture and decorative arts dating back to the period between the 15th and 19th centuries.
The palace is surrounded by beautiful gardens with pretty Italian and French fountains, pools and sculptures.
