Swag mountain is a place that jin settle in.
It was mentioned in the poem of Umara Bin Aqeel Bin Bilal Bin Jarir Building.
The poet mentioned several adjacent spots around Swag Mountain, which is (Takhfa), a famous mountain, and is located west of Swag Mountain.
Current location:
Swag mountain is one of the famous mountains in Al-Qassim region. It is one of the mountain range "Daria", which is located in the southwest of the province of Rass, next to Al shubakaih, Which was formerly called Altanaa, and rises above sea level 1254 m.
Mount Swag is located in the southern side of Jabal Al Nayea mountain, and Al Nuwaia mountain. It is located on the north side of Mount Laibiya, Mount Hadla, and Oreik well; it is located on the west side of al-Shubikia and the village of Al-Rawdatain and Al-Mas'ouka Mountain.
Around the mountain, there are some valleys such as Fayyada valley, Al-Nuwaie, the famous Mabhil, Medicius, and Abu Nakhla valley.
The mountain is known for its dark black color and its volcanic rocks. The southern side of it contains red basaltic rocks.
This mountain is distinctive for its inscriptions which icovers the north-west side of the mountain. The inscriptions include different animals, such as caribou, camels and cows, as well as some ancient Thamudic writings.
There is also a group of plateaus belonging to the mountains. The plateaus also have colored inscriptions in blue, red and orange. Some specialists have been studying these inscriptions.
The route of pilgrims from Basra to Mecca passes down the south-eastern side of Swag mountain. There was also a dining area for pilgrims called (Alraigp) and located between the Swag mountain and Dodiat Mount.
This place was inhabited by Amira bin Khafaf ibn Amru Al Qais bin Bahtha ibn Salim ibn Mansur. Afterwards, the sons of Asiyya ibn Khafaf inhabited it.
Sheikh Mohammed al-Aboudi described it in the "Dictionary of the Land of Qassim" as a black rectangular mountain extending from the south to the north. It is located in the west of Qassim, southwest of the province of Rass, 75 km away in an area called Dria.
The mountain had got several names and titles including Swag Altana, Swag Daria, Swag Tafkha, Swag Al khail; it was called Swag al khail because Omar bin al-Khattab - may Allah be pleased with him - was using it as a stable for the horse of charity.
