Historic Overview:
- Qaraqir: The name of the valley is originally from Ad-dahna, it has been mentioned in Ad-dahna, and it was said: that it is a water of Kalb, on the authority of Al-Ghoury, and the day of Qaraqir: is the day of Dhi Qar Al-Akbar.
- Nasr said: Qaraqir is a place of the family of Al Hussein bin Ali bin Abi Talib.
-He said that the Messenger of Allah peace be upon him remained only a little until he came out to his companions and said to them : " Give thanks to Allah so much as the sons of Rabi'ah has conquered today the people of Persia; they killed their kings, profaned their soldiers, and by my help they triumphed." He said the incident was in Qaraqir, to the side of Dhi Qar.
