Shanfari Grave
Historic overview:
Shanfari, Amr ibn Malik al-Azdi, is one of the sons of al-Harith bin Rabia (died in 70 before the emigration, 525 AD), he is a poet from the pre Islamic period. His name means thick lips.
Al-Bakri mentioned it in his dictionary.
Shanfari said:
And he had been captured by the sons of Shababah Ibn Fahm, and he remained there until the sons of Salman captured a man of the Shababah. Then they set Shanfari free. Shanfari considered himself one of them until he had a fight with the daughter of the person he was staying with; he told her one day: Wash my head, sister.
She denied that he is her brother and slapped his face, then he became angry and went to talk to the man who bought him. The Shanfari said to him: Where did I come from? He said: From Awass bin Hagar. said: I will not leave you until I kill a hundred of you, and he went to kill them until he has killed ninety-nine men. When he hit the man with whom he had completed the hundred, the man struck his head with his leg and he died as a result. He said do not bury me, but leave me for the hyena to eat me, because it is better for me that the enemy will not get my body and do whatever they want.
