Overview:
Qasr al-Muriq or the Alcázar of Seville, is a royal palace in Seville, Spain and considered one of the most important sights in sevilla.
Located southeast of Seville close to the big church, it was famous for its beautiful inscriptions and its columns, it was built in Andalusian architecture style.
It was originally a fortress built by Almohads then it was converted into a royal palace.
It was built by King Peter I (The Cruel) on the site of the Muslim fortress that was built in 1350.
It was registered in 1987 by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, making it a destination for visitors from all over the world.
You can visit the theatre of the palace which has Islamic architectural style and 511 seats.
You can sit in the Garden of the Royal Alcázar of Seville and enjoy seeing the fountains and water jets.
There is also the “Nights in the Gardens of the Real Alcázar” festival that is held every summer.
