• Kartepe Mountain means in the Turkish language "snow summit", and was later also known as "Koskoy".
• Kartepe Mountain is located to the east of Istanbul, near Izmit, overlooking the town of Sapanca and the beautiful Sapanca Lake.
• Kartepe Mountain of Sapanca is one of the most important and most beautiful tourist places in Sapanca, as thousands of tourists and visitors come to see it from all over the world throughout the year.
• Its height is 1650 meters, and it has a distinctive feature that it receives tourists and visitors in summer and winter.
• In the winter, it is covered with white snow, and skiing is widespread at that time, and when the snow melts, the mountain is covered with a green colour, to be a resort and place to relax.
• What also distinguishes Kartepe Mountain is the charming cable car that extends from the top of Kartepe Mountain to the bottom of the mountain to form the most wonderful views of nature.
• This area was uninhabited until the year 1600 AD, and in the year 1900 AD this region started its tourism activity and became one of the most beautiful tourist places in Turkey that attract tourists.
