Overview:

• "Lake Sapanca" is one of the most wonderful tourist places in Turkey and it is the largest natural lake in Turkey, and thousands of tourists and visitors come to it from all over the world.

• "Sapanca Lake" is located in Turkey, about 135 km away from Istanbul.

• Its depth reaches about 52 meters, and its area is estimated at forty-five square kilometres, and the path of the lake forms a parallel line with Lake Iznik, "Lake Sapanca" is considered the charming bridge between eastern and western Turkey.

• This lake belongs to the province of Sakarya, and it is located between the plains of Adapazari and the Gulf of Izmit, and it is separated from Istanbul by the city of Izmit.

• Lake Sapanca is famous for its enormous fish wealth of various species and varieties, and one of these fish is the delicious carp.

• It has a special garden for birds at a distance of (35) kilometres from Istanbul, which brings tourists and visitors, especially Arab tourists and their families.

• The lake is surrounded by tall mountains with a wonderful view, as well as a group of green forests, what increases its magnificence is the presence of a cable car that extends from the bottom of the Kartepe mountain to its summit, and the height of Mount Kartepe is 1650 meters, and it has a dazzling view for Sapanca Lake.

• Lake Sapanca also includes waterfalls (Maşukiye) and the number of waterfalls in it is 25 waterfalls, including the small and the big ones, and it was named by that name due to the intensity of its beauty, and the Maşukiye waterfalls are 20 kilometres away from Sapanca Lake, so that the beauty and charm of its rural nature meets the sounds of fresh water flowing from the top of the mountains.

How to get there:

• Its proximity to Istanbul is an advantage for making the most important trips to the tourist offices, so that the tourist can use all the convenient ways, such as using public transportation such as metro stations or taking the bus, or he can rent a private car to reach the lake.

• The lake is also accessed through Haydarpaşa station by taking a direct train heading to Sapanca directly.
