Valley of Tabala
Overview:
• Bisha governorate, in the south of the kingdom, is famous for the presence of "Tabala", which lies to the west.
• It is characterized by many archaeological sites, most of which date back to pre-Islamic history, not to mention the unique geographical location as it is a link between the Sarat mountains and the plains of Bisha, and a large valley passes through it.
• The center of "Tabala" and its affiliated villages live for more than 8 thousand people, and it is one of the oldest places in the governorate of Bishah civilization and the most ancient in history. However, the rock drawings and inscriptions came less than they were in some other areas.
Reason of calling:
• The name “Tabala” village goes back to “Tabbala bint Maknaf,” and another narration says that it was given this name when Alhagag destroyed the movement of “Abdullah bin Al-Zubair” so Al-Walid bin Abdul-Malik wanted to be rewarded with the Wilayat of Tabala.
Archaeological sites in it:
• The most important sites that contain rock drawings and inscriptions are: Wadi Qar, the site of the upper Laj, the site of the lower Laj, Wadi al-Labdah, the site of Umm al-Marrash, Wadi Qara, the site of Dhu al-Khalsa, and the site of Wadi Sarsh.
• Tabala and other villages and centers of the Bisha governorate embrace a group of historical antiquities that date back before Islam and are still standing today, challenging natural factors and different times.
" Shaalan Palace ": It is one of the most important archaeological buildings in the village of "Tabala", and trips from explorers go to it except this place. The palace was built in 1213 AH during the reign of the first Saudi state.
“Wasit Village”: It was called this name because it was actually mediating the village of Tabala, and there was a “Tabbala Market” which was held every Saturday.
" Gold mine ": It was discovered in the Abbasid era and became very famous, and the mine is located at the highest point in Wadi Tabbala.
" Al-Mas`abin wall ": The village is famous for the ancient Al-Masaab wall, and locally made stones were used to build a large wall.
" Mount Alia ": It is one of the famous places in the village of Tabala, as it is spread by many remnants of the old forts that were built in this ancient place, in addition to the remains of houses and cemeteries.
" Valley of Tabala": It is one of the most important tributaries of "Wadi Bisha", as it extends from "Jabal Al Hadara" to "Wadi Bisha", specifically at "Village of Subaihi".
