The Great Mosque - Mosque of Ibn Uthaymeen
Overview:
• The Grand Mosque is located in the central area of Unayzah, and it represents the city's historical heart over hundreds of years.
Its name:
• It was formerly called the "Al-Talha" mosque, then it was named Al-Jarrah Mosque, according to one of the leaders of the Suba’i tribe who is Zuhri Bin Jarrah, the father of the founder of the Emirate of Unayzah.
Architectural description:
• The construction of the "Great Mosque" goes back to more than 300 years and since its building only one family has taken on the task of the calling to prayer.
• The new architecture of the mosque goes back to the year (1405 AH), where the mosque has the capacity to (8000 worshipers).
• The clay minaret that was built in (1309 AH) is still standing next to the mosque, and it is composed of five floors reached by a spiral staircase.
