Sidi Bishr Mosque

Historic overview:

Sidi Bishr Mosque was attributed to Sheikh Bishr bin Al-Hussein bin Muhammad bin Ubaid Allah bin Al-Hussein bin Bishr Al-Johari, who is from the family of Bishr who came to Alexandria in the late fifth century AH or early sixth century AH with those who came from the scholars of Morocco and Andalusia during that period. He was famous for his righteousness and piety, and he died in 528 AH.

He was buried in the same place where he was staying, and people built a mausoleum for him around his grave. When the construction extended to this area, people established a mosque around the mausoleum in the late nineteenth century AD.
