The Islamic Center "Islamisches Zentrum", started as an idea and project during the reign of King "Faisal" - may God have mercy on him - and was completed and inaugurated during the reign of King "Khalid" - may God have mercy on him -.

It was built between 1975 and 1979 with donations from the King of Saudi Arabia, “Faisal bin Abdul Aziz,” as representatives of 8 Islamic countries bought a plot of land in 1968 and agreed with Austria to support the idea of building.

As for its inauguration, it was in the month of Muharram of the year 1400 AH, which was the twentieth day of October of the year 1987 AD.
