Khoja Tepe Mosque or Kocatepe
Overview:
It is the largest mosque in the Turkish capital, Ankara, and one of the largest mosques in the world, as the campus contains a spacious prayer hall that can contain 24,000 worshipers.
It was built between 1967 AD and 1987 AD, when the building was opened its size and location were made clear to be a prominent landmark that can be seen from almost anywhere from the center of the capital, Ankara.
Architectural description:
The mosque is designed in the classic Ottoman style, and its construction is inspired by the (Selimiye Mosque) in Edirne and the mosques (Shahzadeh and Sultan Ahmed) in Istanbul, which in turn was influenced by Byzantine architecture. The mosque contains four high-rise minarets with a length of four minarets 88 meters.
