Dar Al Kutub Al Qatariya (Qatari Books House)
Overview:
It is considered the oldest library in Qatar. It was founded by Sheikh Ali bin Abdullah Al Thani in the year (1962 AD) after donating the land for the purpose of building the library.
The library includes 276 thousand books in Arabic and 38 thousand books in English, and the Dar also includes a large and valuable collection of manuscripts which are about two thousand manuscripts, and there is also a section for periodicals that includes 533 different periodicals, most of which are old periodicals.
The library also includes a large number of books that talk about Qatar in all aspects and fields, and the library also includes a special section for all scientific researches by Qatari researchers.
Qatari Books House is located in Al-Mirqab area, next to Al-Kutub Roundabout, south of Doha Stadium.
