Overview:
The Archaeological Museum was inaugurated on July 19, 1940 in downtown close to the picturesque Old City, and it was added to the world heritage in 1997.

The museum collections showcased in this museum are related to the archaeological researches in the region; so that the majority of the remains and artifacts on display were discovered through regular fossils conducted in northern Morocco, starting in the thirties of the last century.

Contents of the Museum:

The Archaeological Museum of Tetouan shows the pre-Islamic period in the Maghreb, where the museum displays a wide range of ancient artifacts that reveal the lifestyle of the ancient historical era. Among the artifacts displayed in the museum are: ceramic jars and mosaics, ancient inscriptions, antique coins and old bones dating back to ancient times.
