Chiang Rai
Chiang Rai is a city in northern Thailand, in the mountainous province of the same name, and is home to some of the indigenous Thai tribes.
It has many impressive archaeological, religious and natural attractions, making it one of the best tourist destinations in the Asian continent.
The city was founded in 1262 as the capital of the Mengrai Dynasty. To this day, it retains the strong identity of the Lan Na Kingdom, mostly through its impressive group of Buddhist temples, creative arts, local languages, traditional cuisine, and folk music.
