Rio de Janeiro

Rio de Janeiro or simply Rio, is the second-most populous municipality in Brazil after São Paulo.

Founded in 1565, it is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, it is about 1,260 k.m2.

It was founded by Portuguese soldiers when they established a fort and a town” was named  Rio de Janeiro” close to Guanabara Bay, over control of the port.

It became the capital of the State of Brazil, and it is located in Rio de Janeiro state. 

The city of Rio de Janeiro is one of the most populous city in Brazil. 

Rio is famous for its breathtaking landscape, especially its beaches as Copacabana beach is the most popular with tourists, in addition to Leblon and Ipanema beaches.

The most famous tourist places are Corcovado; statue of Christ the Redeemer and Botafogo District which contain a set of the best commercial markets.

It is famous for its Carnaval festival and different occasions.
