This city is the largest metropolitan area in the region with a population of 1,837,969 people. It is located between Burrard Inlet and the Fraser River, and is considered a port overlooking the sea level, surrounded by snow-covered mountains. Vancouver is famous for its many economic activities, and its economy is based on forests, tourism, and mining, as well as industry and shipping. Processing forest products, agriculture, fish, and oil refining are of great importance to the country's economy, and many industries are based in the city.
