Mosquée du Pacha
Overview:
• Pasha Mosque is considered one of the important archaeological and historical monuments in Oran. The Bey Mohamed Al Kabir began building it after liberating the city from the Spanish occupation, and works on it were completed in 1796 AD. Basha Mosque is considered the only mosque among the city's remaining ancient mosques that was built according to the incoming Ottoman style, and this is evident through its prayer hall with a central dome surrounded by domes on each side and also through its ribbed minaret. Therefore, it does not differ in terms of its characteristics than those mosques which belong to the same period in the rest of the cities of Algeria, and this mosque has preserved its original character, whether in terms of its architectural plan or its artistic decorations.
