Shubra Museum Palace

Overview:

• The Shubra Museum Palace was established in 1995 AD within a historical building that was built in 1904 AD in the city of Taif. The palace was a residence for the royal family in the city before it was opened as a historical museum, and it is currently widely known among the tourist places in Saudi Arabia.

A tour inside the Shubra Museum Palace:

• The museum building is distinguished by its unique architectural style, in which the Roman and Islamic character blends with some of the traditional architectural styles of the Hijaz region at the time.

• The museum consists of a basement with four floors above it, along with some external extensions and gardens, and includes 150 rooms that house archaeological exhibits.

• You can wander around the palace gardens surrounded by trees, some of which are more than 100 years old, as well as some wooden carvings.

• Inside the building, there is the main hall, which was known as the Selamlek, in the middle of which is a model of the building, and it includes double stairs and a marble floor.

• The Hall of Stone Ages displays a collection of artifacts and pottery, and some paintings that include inscriptions and writings.

• The Hall of the Islamic Era includes some antique pottery and exhibits that tell the story of Islam and the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him.

• Hall of the story of the unification of the Kingdom from its beginnings to the present era, which includes some heritage pieces, paintings, pictures and documentaries.

• There are also offices inside the palace, such as the office of His Majesty the King.
