Overview
• The popular “Almusawkif” market in Unaizah Governorate was built in 1428 AH to commemorate the old market in Unaizah, which has the same name and has been removed in 1394 AH.
Architectural description:
• The total market area (3000) square meters, and contains two main sections, one of which is for men and the other is for women.
• The men market consists of commercial stores "shops”, which number is (25) shops and surrounded by a hallway designed in the old heritage form, as well as open cafes, which are a place that shoppers can meet each other and exchange conversations. The men market also includes a museum displaying pieces and objects of heritage.
• The market also contains two areas to organize and hold and organize auctions and offers, and a third square is part of the Al-Bassam Heritage House that interferes with the market to form a seating area for comfort. The men's section is characterized by a hallway which width is three meters, built on pillars that surrounds the market from the inside, and heritage domes built in the middle of the market in the old heritage form.
• As for the women market, it contains (20) shops in addition to a prayer hall for women and special services such as the kitchen and toilets. The women section has two entrances, one from the northern side and the other from the southern side.
