Overview:

Benslimane is a city located to the east of the capital, Rabat and Casablanca, and in the northwest of the Kingdom of Morocco. It is the center of the Ben Soliman region, which belongs to Casablanca-Settat. The city is also located 62 kilometers away from the eastern part of Casablanca and the capital, Rabat, where it includes about 58,194 people, based on the data of the High Commission for Planning, 2014.

Its name is due to "Sidi Muhammad bin Suleiman," whose tomb is located a kilometer away to the southwestern part of downtown.

Historic Overview:

Its foundation dates back to 1907 AD by the French through the construction of a residential area for the military that was found along Bouznika Road.

Architectural Description:

The city maintains a distinctive urban character, and there are many beautiful green spaces that consist of cork and oak forests, so it is called the Green City. It has many treatment opportunities, especially for those suffering from chest and respiratory diseases.

The traditional architectural character also prevails over the city, where traditional Moroccan homes represent 86.5% of the total residential homes in the city, while modern apartments represent only 3.6%, and villas constitute 4.2%, and about 6% of the population lives in simple and humble residential places.

The city is divided into many regions and neighborhoods, such as: the Bel Air neighborhood and the Jerusalem neighborhood.
