Overview:
The Oudayas Kasbah is located to the northeast of Rabat, on the cliff of rock on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean and the mouth of the "Bou Regreg" River, which is an amazing place that attracts many visitors who come to spend their vacation in Morocco.
It was built during the Almohad era (1121-1269 AD)
The name "Oudayas", derived from the name of the desert tribe that lived in the region, was added to the men of Alawite tribe who was defending the city against attacks from other neighboring tribes.
Architectural Description:
The "Oudayas Kasbah" has its own Andalusian-Arabic style of the architecture of gates and corners, ornate flower garden, roses, and fountains.
The Andalusian character of the "Oudayas Kasbah" can be attributed to the Moroccans who immigrated to the region in the 15th century after their expulsion from Spain.
Guests can enter the "Oudayas Kasbah" from the grand gate, and as soon as you set foot through this gate, you see its huge decorations, to find yourself in front of an amazing and distinct world.
Many small balconies are spread throughout the area with hanging roses and flowers, and there are many narrow corridors colored in white and blue. Tourists enjoy in the Oudaya Kasbah while listening to the wonderful symphony.
This Kasbah is distinguished by not containing workshops, factories, buses, taxis, or any kind of smoke and pollution.
