About the city

Pisa

It is the area of the alluvial plain above the banks of the Arno River, separated by an estimated distance of 10 km from the Ligurian Sea, and the city is about 80 km west of Florence.

The city is considered to have fertile plains due to its location near the sea coast, and is famous for its abundance of mineral waters, and minerals such as copper, marble and alabaster are abundant in the nearby mountains.

History indicates that ancient Pisa was known as "Pisai", and was under the rule of the Roman state and made it as a naval base, and during the period between 180-313 AD, it had become a purely Roman colony.

What indicates the ancient history of the city is its historical tourist attractions such as the "Leaning Tower of Pisa" and "Pisa Cathedral", which takes the form of a Latin cross with granite columns at the top of it, and also has four bronze doors thanks to Partij Yani and Augusto Serrano who supplied it to the cathedral.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa occupies a privileged position in the heart of the Pisa Cathedral, and is referred to as a bell tower which is completely separate from the city's cathedral. It is ranked third as the oldest structure in the square. It is worth noting that his fame was gained as a result of an unintended mistake that was made during its construction, and this wondrous tower is approximately 183.27 feet high.

Pisa has the Gesto International Airport, which is considered a symbol of the Air Federation in Italy; the airport occupies a location above 43.68 latitude and 10.39 longitude in Italy, and consists of two runways designated for night landings, and also supports commercial jet aircraft, and long, medium and short transport flights.
