Mykonos is an island located in the southeast part of Greece, one of the top european countries. Mykonos is located in the west of Turkey, particularly at the southwest of the Turkish city İzmir. Mykonos is surrounded by other islands including; Naxos from the south, Syros from the west, and Tinos from the northwest. Mykonos is an important part of the Archipelago that is named Cyclades. Mykonos' space amounts to 105 square kilometers, where according to a 2001 survey around 9300 people live there. Mykonos was named after its first ruler Mykonos, the son or grandson of the god Apollo.
