The oldest building in Athens dates back to 2200 BC at the end of the Bronze Age. at 1000 BC athens was expanding into the northwest, and it flourished in the 6 century BC when Peisistratos and his sons took over the Acropolis. in 480 BC the persian took over athens and damaged the city, where 30 years after the persian took over the city was restored into its original form. Acropolis is an important palace in Athens as it has Parthenon, temples, and theaters. The city has monuments including Byzantine churches, museums, like Parthenon, National Archaeological Museum, and Byzantine museum.
