Dakahlia Governorate is located in the northeast of Delta in Egypt. Its capital is the city of Mansoura.
The governorate has a population of about 6 million people, making it one of the most populous governorates in Egypt.
Dakahlia Governorate is located in the north-eastern sector of the Nile Delta, around the Damietta branch. It is bounded on the east by Ash Sharqia governorate, on the west by Gharbia governorate, on the north by the Mediterranean, on the northeast by Damietta governorate, on the northwest by Kafr El Sheikh governorate, and on the south by Al Qalyubia governorate.
