Northern Saudi Arabia

The Northern Borders Province is the region located to the north of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and is bordered by Iraq from the northern side. And its administrative capital is the city of Arar, with an area of ​​127 thousand km2 and a population of 320 thousand people.

It has many valleys and plains, such as Wadi Arar, Wadi Aba Al Qour, Al Hilali and Wadi Badna, as well as hills and mountains, such as Qara Matan and Telul Shami, Al-Markoz and Al-Khuffais

There are also parks in the region where natural herbs grow.

Arar region is characterized by its strategic location; it is located on an international triangle bordering on the north, Iraq, Turkey and European countries, and on the west, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and from the east the Arab Gulf countries.

·         The cities of the Northern Borders Province:

Arar: It is the capital of the region and has the headquarter of the emirate.

Rafha: It is the second largest city in the region

Turaif: It is located in the western side of the region

Al Owiqela: It is located between the cities of Rafha and Arar

Jdeideh Ar’ar: The Saudi border crossing into the country of Iraq

Sho'bah Nessab: It is located in the eastern side of the region towards Hafar Al-Batin

The Northern Borders Province has many archaeological sites, dating back to pre-Islamic times, such as Arar and Turaif, in which wall foundations from the Dougara Palace are located, in Rafha, which was a station for pilgrims, and the archaeological sites in Lina, Luqa and the historical village of Zabala

In the northern borders, the land turns into a green rug in spring with many aromatic plants and truffles, and the atmosphere is suitable for camping, fishing and hunting, specifically for hawk lovers.
